A Darlington County teenager is behind bars and accused of using a BB gun during a robbery.
Lamar Police Chief, Charles Woodle, tells NewsChannel 15 Demarcus Tyshawn Bethea, 17, pointed a BB gun at a man on Railroad Avenue Friday night and demanded that he give up his iPhone. He did and police say Bethea took off with the phone.
Chief Woodle says because Bethea presented the BB gun as a weapon during the commission of a crime, he's charged with armed robbery. His bond hearing will be held Monday afternoon.
