HORRY COUNTY -- The organization Smoke Free Horry observed the Great American Smokeout  Thursday by setting up information tables at three locations in Horry County, handing out information about the benefits of quitting smoking.

Smoke Free Horry is encouraging smokers to quit or at least make a plan to quit.

They delivered their message at Coastal Carolina University, Horry-Georgetown Technical College, and Coastal Grand Mall.

Smoke Free Horry is operating through a grant from the National Centers for Disease Control, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, and the South Carolina Tobacco Collaborative.
