NORTH MYRTLE BEACH -- Turnout for the North Myrtle Beach city council runoff election is slow but steady.
Voters are turning out to cast ballots in the race for the Cherry Grove council seat.
At 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Municipal Election Commission of the City of North Myrtle Beach said 140 voters had cast a ballot at the St. Stephens Episcopal Church on 11th Ave. North.
"This precinct here is usually excellent for voting, so we're excited and think they'll turn out strong today," Michael Stephens with the Municipal Election Commission said.
The runoff election is between Fred Coyne and Doris Williams.
Registered voters who did not vote in the general election are encouraged to vote in the runoff.
"To vote is very simple. There's only two candidates to vote for, so in a matter of seconds you're in and out. There's no long lines so everyone should take part and vote," Stephens added.
