On Thursday, November 17 from 6:30 p.m. -9 p.m., the Christian Haitian American Partnership (CHAP) will hold its first fundraiser at The Original Benjamin's in Myrtle Beach. The event will include dinner and a silent auction.
They're raising money for the Haitian Educational and Nutritional Programs. According to a release from CHAP: CHAP's mission is to improve the quality of life for the people in Haiti, and it focuses on three primary areas of support:
(1)providing financial assistance for children in Haiti to attend one of the four schools run by the Episcopal Parish of St. Simeon, in the Croix de Bouquets area just outside Port-au-Prince.
(2)saving the lives of severely malnourished children by raising money for Lespwa Timoun ("help for children" in Creole), a non-profit nutrition program centered in the Croix-de-Bouquets area.
(3)improving medical, dental and eye care by sending medical/dental/optometry teams to serve the local people in the Croix-de-Bouquets area.
The fundraiser is $50 per person and includes one cocktail from 6:30 to 7pm, a buffet dinner, silent auction, and cash bar. Haitian art & apparel will also be sold to raise money for the Haitian Educational & Nutrition Programs.
