COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A review shows that Gov. Nikki Haley uses her state -issued cell phone an average of only one call per day.
The State newspaper reports that Haley's state-issued cell phone has been used fewer than 200 times from January to September.
South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian says Haley's infrequent use of her state issued phone shows the first-term Republican governor secretly is conducting state business on other phones.
But Haley spokesman Rob Godfrey says the first-term Republican governor is not using a private cell phone to handle state business. Godfrey says Haley often uses staffers' phones and has many face-to-face meetings.
