FLORENCE -- About 200 people honored our veterans and soldiers Friday at Florence Veterans Park.
The Veterans Park was dedicated in 2008. Officials gave a plaque to former Florence Mayor Frank Willis for his efforts to see that the park was constructed.
The speaker was Major Abraham J. Turner. He's a veteran of Operation Just Cause, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He encouraged the crowd to always remember the many sacrifices of veterans.
