COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The South Carolina heritage of homemade moonshine and wine making is getting some attention at the State Museum in Columbia.

The museum is hosting an exploration of such activities in an adults only event Saturday dubbed "Moonshine and Muscadine."

Dark Corner Distillery of Greenville, the state's first legal moonshine distillery, is offering samples of its handmade corn whiskey.

September Oaks Vineyard of Ridgeland and Hyman Vineyards of Conway are also offering samples of their wines made from muscadine grapes. The grapes are able to thrive in the warmer southern climates and are used for wines, juices and jellies.
