TIMMONSVILLE -- Thursday, the State Law Enforcement Division arrested Timmonsville's Clerk of Court on accusations of forgery and misconduct in office.

Arrest warrants say Wilhelmina Washington was acting in her authority as Clerk of Court when she signed a judge's name to a document for a person who was arrested by Timmonsville police for outstanding bench warrants.

The signature would have allowed the person to be released from the Florence County Detention Center.

The warrant says Washington did not have permission from the judge to sign his name.

A bond hearing will be held for her Friday morning, when we hope to learn more about the inmate who was released.
