ROBESON COUNTY -- The Robeson County Sheriff's Office says a 20-year-old woman was shot in the leg and back on Interstate 95 just after midnight Sunday morning.

The woman was riding in a 4-door Chevy pick-up truck in the front passenger seat.

Deputies say a white car, possibly a 4-door Buick, pulled up next to the pick-up around mile marker 25 on I-95 in North Carolina. A man in the car fired several shots, two of them hitting the woman.

The woman is expected to survive.

Deputies believe the two men in the car were from South Carolina.
