People in northern Horry County had a chance to vote on whether to allow McLeod Health to take over the local hospitals. They overwhelmingly passed the referendum with 85 percent of the vote.

The referendum asked if voters support transferring the assets and and properties of Seacoast Medical Center and Loris Community Hospital to the McLeod system.

Green Sea, Floyds, Simpson Creek, Little River, and parts of Dogwood Neck and Bayboro voted on this issue today.
