Mande Wilkes announced Thursday her bid for the Pee Dee's emerging 7th Congressional seat.

The U.S. Justice Department still has to sign off on the proposal that centers that new seat in the Grand Strand and Pee Dee area.

As a small business operator, Wilkes claims to match every single tax cut with a corresponding budget cut and as a conservative, Wilkes pledges to term-limit herself to two terms in Congress.

Wilkes ran unsuccessfully for South Carolina state legislature.

She has been airing a paid program on WPDE on Sunday mornings and will continue that show as a paid political advertisement.

Two other candidates have officially announced for their candidacy for the seat, Republican state representative Thad Viers and Democrat Parnell Diggs.
