Horry County Police Sgt. Robert Kegler says a Longs man has surrendered after he was barricaded inside a home in Longs Wednesday afternoon.
Police responded to the house on Castler Heights Road around 11:30 Wednesday morning because they'd learned the man, Prentis Connie Reaves, 39, was possibly inside with a woman they say he kidnapped at gunpoint from a home in Columbus County, North Carolina.
Police say when they got to the house, they heard movement inside, but couldn't make contact with anyone.
SWAT members and the Hostage Negotiations team then responded and made contact with Reaves on a cell phone.
A short time later he surrendered and was arrested.
Police say the victim was found inside and is in good condition.
Police say Reaves had an outstanding warrant for Criminal Domestic Violence in Horry County. That is the only charge he faces right now, but police say more are pending
