COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -The Department of Employment and Workforce plans to release the state's September jobless rate Friday morning. The August rate was 11.1 percent, marking four straight months of increases and tying for fourth-worst in the country.
Department executive director Abraham Turner said last month that the unemployment rate should soon begin to drop because recent job announcements show new businesses are coming to South Carolina.
