(AP) -- South Carolina's highway commissioners will be asked again if they want to drop plans to borrow $344 million for several road projects including construction of six miles of Interstate 73 in Dillon County and an interchange project on Interstate 85 in Greenville.

The board that oversees the Department of Transportation approved the money earlier this year, and in August, commissioners voted 4-3 to turn down a proposal from fellow board member John Edwards to drop the plans.

Edwards told The Greenville News that he  plans Thursday to again ask the board to rethink borrowing the money, saying the agency's cash flow problems are too severe to be taking on new debt
