Yard sales are easy to find on a Saturday morning but one held at an Horry County church wasn't just about gettng rid of old items, it was for a good cause.
St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Little River held a bazaar today for their scholarship ministry. Members donated items to sell including clothing, household items, and baked goods. Visitors could also take part in a silent auction.
All the proceeds go toward funding scholarships for students who plan on attending college.
"One of the things we're finding out in terms of monies from the federal or state level they're decreasing and we think it's very important for the church to be involved in the young persons life in terms of helping them reach their goals," said Rev. Johnathan Greene.
The centerpiece of today's event was a fully loaded 2001 Cadillac. For just a $10 donation you could enter a drawing for the car.
