Flu season is fast approaching and with thousands dying every year from complications of the flu, now is the time to get vaccinated.
Georgetown Hospital System is holding flu shot clinics over the next few months to prepare for peak flu season which arrives in January and lasts through March.
Those clinics started today at Georgetown Memorial Hospital with a morning and an afternoon session. The afternoon session included a drive through for those who may have trouble getting in and out of their cars.
Carla Wham works for Georgetown Hospital and says that the drive through shots are "for people's convenience so they can just drive through, we go to the car, they sign the consents there, we give the flu shot and they don't even have to get out of the car and come in."
Another drive through clinic will be held Thursday at Waccamaw Community Hospital. The cost is twenty-five dollars and Medicare B is also accepted.
