Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley says an autopsy shows that Leroy McDowell, 51, drowned over the weekend.
The autopsy was performed at Grand Strand Regional Medical in Myrtle Beach.
Grimsley says McDowell was fishing in a pond on Blue Moon Drive in Dillon County Saturday afternoon.
The coroner says McDowell's boat overturned, and he couldn't get back in the boat.
Officials say some bystanders called 911, but McDowell had already drowned.
Dive team members with Dillon Rescue pulled his body from the water.
