Horry County police charged Monroe August Eggerling, 32, with armed robbery, kidnapping, failure to stop for blue lights and resisting arrest.

They say last Thursday, he robbed the First Citizens Bank on Socastee Boulevard, while armed with a handgun.

Based on a description given by witnesses, officers attempted to stop a car on Highway 707 in the area of Tern Hall Subdivision.

Police say the driver failed to stop, eventually pulled over and ran off.

They found Eggerling after tracking him through a pond.

Police say they recovered all the money taken from the bank.

Eggerling is from Myrtle Beach.
