Horry County police say recent statistics show more than seven million Americans abuse prescription drugs. They say each day, approximately 2,500 teenagers use prescription drugs to get high for the first time.
The new drop box is meant to help people properly and safely dispose their prescription drugs and assure they do not get in the wrong hands.
The M.L. Brown Building is at 2560 North Main St. in Conway. The drop box is in the main hallway just outside of the Horry County Police Department's lobby. People can drop off their prescription drugs Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The drugs can be dropped off with no questions asked and no paper work to fill out
