MURRELLS INLET -- Horry County Coroner Robert Edge says a woman has died from cardiac arrest due to drowning.
Savannah Kinkaid, 18, passed away at Waccamaw Community Hospital around 10:00 a.m. Monday.
Friday morning, Kinkaid was taken from the ocean at Garden City Point after falling off her boogie board in rough ocean conditions.
The beachgoers started CPR before crews from Murrells Inlet Garden City Fire arrived to take her to the hospital.
Chief Norman Knight said the woman is from Georgia and was visiting family in the Garden City.
