The Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Pawleys Island. It happened Saturday afternoon on highway 17 near The Fresh Market grocery store.
Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson says the victim is 74-year-old Donald Lacey of Pawleys Island.
Officials say when Lacey turned onto highway 17 at an intersection the driver of a Ford traveling northbound hit Lacey's car.
Lacey was airlifted to the Medical University of South Carolina where he died.
The passenger in his car was taken to Georgetown Hospital for treatment.
The driver and passenger of the Ford were not injured.
