You can expect lane closures along 6th Avenue South on both sides of Highway 17 in North Myrtle Beach starting October 3rd. The construction project is expected to be finished on March 31.

Crews will be putting in a left turn lane for 6th Avenue South on each side of Highway 17, putting in new signal head mast arms for the intersection, and replacing and adding storm drains.

Electrical and telecommunication crews will also move powerlines underground.

Sixth Avenue South will be fully closed on the west side (Intracoastal Waterway side) of Highway 17 for a storm drainage crossing for a short time, according to the city. City leaders say they'll continue to keep us updated on closures as the project progresses.
