Homeless Initiative meeting in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH -- More than 60 individuals from dozens of Human service organizations and the city of Myrtle Beach met Tuesday to discuss homelessness in the area.

"If we don't do something to solve this problem we are going to loose business here," Mayor John Rhodes said.

In August, Myrtle Beach passed a resolution that listed several tactics to support. That includes supporting the agencies already out there.

Tuesday's meeting was to hear those agencies needs.

Community education, drug addiction programs, and more permanent housing are a few needs representatives from the local groups expressed.

Do you think enough is being done to help those who are homeless? Do you think the resolution and this meeting will help at all? Share your comments and we might use them tonight in your news at 11.
