'Mass Casualty Situation' in Plane Crash at Air Show

From ABC News: A plane, reportedly the Galloping Ghost flown by Jimmy Leeword, crashed into the crowd at the National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nev. today. The Associated Press is reporting Leeword died in the crash.

A small plane crashed near a grandstand at the National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nev., an FAA official said, creating what a race spokesman told The Associated Press was a "mass casualty situation."

Video of the crash at around 4:30 p.m. local time showed the plane, the Galloping Ghost flown by Jimmy Leeword, suddenly lurching vertically into the air and then coming down in an area containing spectators. The AP cited video that showed bodies and wreckage at the front of the stands.
