A forum at Francis Marion University will discuss the proposed Interstate-73 that would run from Michigan to Myrtle Beach.

In an email, the national environmentalist group, the Sierra Club, called the interstate a political boondoggle and would bankrupt the state. The Sierra Club is asking its members to speak up in opposition at the forum.

The environmentalist group says the interstate will destroy 300 acres of wetland. But those in favor say I-73's proposed route is in the best possible space.

The public forum on I-73 will be held at FMU at 1:00 p.m.
