There were slightly fewer passengers at Myrtle Beach International Airport last month, possibly because of Hurricane Irene.

About 104,000 people flew into MYR, .32 percent fewer than August 2009.

The number of people flying out of Myrtle Beach was down five percent compared to last August, with about 107,000 people boarding planes in Myrtle Beach.

Flights were canceled up and down the East Coast as Hurricane Irene approached the coast on the last weekend of August.
