The Marlboro County town of Clio is under a boil water advisory.

Mayor Hamer McRae says crews with the South Carolina Department of Transportation damaged a water line about 10 a.m on Thursday, while digging a ditch on Highway 9.

McRae says they're asking residents to boil their water until notified.
