The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is considering allowing bear hunting along the coast.

You can find information about the bear population here.

DNR supports bear hunting as a conservation method. But it wants to hear from you. You can send an email to Amanda Stroud at strouda@dnr.sc.gov to voice your opinion.

DNR doesn't expect to make a decision on whether to allow bear hunting along the coast until next year.
