More than 15 law enforcement agencies are coming together for a crack down on drunk drivers the last week of August.
Some 50 officers met tonight before their first of the "hands across the border" patrols. All this week, officers from Georgia, North and South Carolina are conducting patrols and holding check points.
The three state agencies conduct the event each year for the five days leading up to labor day weekend.
It typically costs $20,000 to $30,000 and it paid for by a federal grant.
