HORRY COUNTY -- Two bridges over the Intracoastal Waterway in Horry County will close because of Hurricane Irene.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation is closing the Socastee Swing Bridge and the Little River Swing Bridge at 5 p.m. Friday which span the waterway until further notice.
Officials say with the potential for minor flooding in several areas, it's important to remember the dangers flood waters pose.
Never walk through moving water and do not drive in flooded or flooding areas.
