More than 50 avid golfers hit the links to raise some green Sunday morning.
Sunday marked the 15th annual Grand Strand Optimist's charity golf tournament.
Members of the Optimist Club say they're all about developing optimism as a philosophy of life. The proceeds raised by the tournament will go to Bridgewater Academy and Help for Kids Backpack Buddies.
"It's a fun way to raise money for kids in the area. We enjoy helping the kids in this area and to do it by playing golf is just a lot of fun," Past President Kevin Cox said.
74 people attended the event. Organizers expect it to raise more than 15 thousand dollars.
