Some kids got rid of some of that summer energy with a triathlon Friday.
Children from seven to 15 gathered at Pepper Geddings Recreation Center in Myrtle Beach to compete in swimming, bicycling and running.
The race was the culmination of one of the week-long summer sports camps.
About 90 athletes participated in the races, which adhere to us triathlon standards and were customized for each age group.
"I thought that running was the hardest because it was so far. I had to do two laps around it instead of one," said Ela Ender, a tri-athlete.
Ribbons were awarded to the top boy and top girl in each age group. Everyone else got a shirt, swim cap and medal.
The long course included a 200 yard swim, 10k bike ride and 2k run.
The overall fastest boy was Billy Luckie, 11, who did it in 47 minutes and 25 seconds.
The fastest girl was Kailey Flannelly, 13, who did it in 49 minutes and 30 seconds.
The seven to ten-year-olds did half of the long course.
For the boys group, Tyler Flannelly, 10, completed the course in 22 minutes and 52 seconds.
For the girls, Mary Addison Davis, 10, completed the course in 24 minutes and 2 seconds.
