Home destroyed by fire

A home on Jackson Avenue in Florence was destroyed by fire early Thursday morning.

The Florence Fire Department arrived at the home around 1:30 a.m. as the home was about 50 percent consumed by the fire. Firefighters point out that the home was unoccupied.

A neighbor called 911 after spotting flames and smoke coming from the neighbor's house.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and is being investigated by the Florence Fire Department and the Florence Police Department.

There were no injuries in the fire.
