Someone killed three people at a Florence County home one year ago.

Deputies found John Timmons, 56, Tion Gore, 37, and Shannon Gainey, 25, shot to death at a home on Cromer Road on August 16, 2010.

Their killer has still not been caught.

"When the officers first got there, they entered the home and immediately found the first two victims, and then checking the rest of the residence, they found the third victim in another room," said Investigator Kathleen Streett.

Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff's Office have never released much information about their investigation into the killings, until now.

NewsChannel 15 talked with Investigator Kathleen Streett who is the lead investigator of the case.

"It's very frustrating. Even from the beginning of the case, we never did get a lot of tips like we usually do in a major case like this or cases that people are talking about all the time. There was a lot of talk about this case, but not a lot of tips," said Streett.

In the meantime, they've re-interviewed witnesses, hoping to gather more information.

Streett said, "Everybody talked to us in the beginning, and we've gone back even after the fact, naturally which you usually do in an investigation, and re-interview people to see if they remember anything or thought of anything else that they had left out in the beginning."

Streett says now it seems as if no one in the Cromer Road area wants to share any information with them.

"Unfortunately, that area of the county has a high incident rate of drug activities and other illegal activities that are going on in that area, which again lead to people being reluctant to talk, and I think there are several people out there that have information that we can use, but for reasons unbeknownst to us at this time, nobody is coming forward with the information we need," said Investigator Streett.

She says this case can be solved, it's just a matter of putting all the pieces together. "It's like a jigsaw puzzle. You have a bunch of pieces out there. You turn them and twist them and place them in a different, you know you can't make fit. It has to fit. You don't have the puzzle complete until you have all the pieces."

She says this case remains open, and they're hoping to get a break soon. Streett says she wants to bring the killer to justice to give some closure to the victims' families.

"It's really sad. They need some closure. They need to know who did this and why, and I don't know if we'll ever be able to tell them why, but we definitely hope to be able to tell them who," said Streett.

If you know anything about the murders, call the Florence County Sheriff's Office at (843) 665-2121.
