Georgetown County deputies arrested Lynwood Simmons and Megan Fuller, both of North Carolina, saying they stole gas for a stolen vehicle and led deputies on a chase.
A clerk at the Kangaroo convenience store on Highway 17 By-pass and Pendergrass Avenue reported someone in a green Toyota Corolla pumped gas and drove off. The clerk had the car's tag number.
Deputies found out the car was stolen from North Carolina. They found the car near the Waccamaw Bridge heading into the city of Georgetown. Deputies tried to stop the driver. But instead, he led them on a 20 minute chase to Andrews and back to Georgetown.
As the vehicle went back into Georgetown, Georgetown City Police used spike strips to stop the car near Reservoir Street.
Deputies charged Simmons with with Failure to Stop for a Blue light, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Failure to pay for gasoline and Speeding 110/40. Fuller was charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They're being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
