According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of gas in the Myrtle Beach area is $3.44. While that's down two cents from yesterday, it's still up from last month.

State Senator Dick Elliot (D) who represents Dillon, Horry, Marion & Marlboro Counties, is sponsoring a bill that would cap wholesale gas prices.

You can learn more about the bill at a public hearing in Myrtle Beach on August, 24th. The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. At Horry Georgetown Technical College's campus on Crabtree Lane. You can also learn more about a bill that could increase penalties for the theft and destruction of timber products.
