Myrtle Beach police are looking for Kendrix Corbitt, 18, for an assault and battery on Vereen Street Thursday. Corbitt is out of jail on bond for murder.
A man says Corbitt came up to him while he was walking home from work just after midnight and hit him in the face and in the eye. The man says it felt like more than a fist, but he didn't see a weapon. Then, the man says he was hit again, fell to the ground and felt like it was more than one person kicking him.
When he made it back to his home, someone called EMS. The man says when he was being treated, he saw Corbitt or his brother watching what was going on so he refused further treatment and didn't file a police report.
About 9 a.m., the man went to the hospital and then called police to file a report. Medical papers show he has a fracture near his right eye. The man also complains of sore ribs.
It appears the man knows Corbitt because he was able to identify his brother.
Police say Corbitt has a history of running to avoid being taken into custody.
He has a tattoo on his lower left arm, a Polo sign tattooed onto his lower right arm, "Death" with a star tattooed onto hs right forearm, and "Beach" tattooed inside of his elbow. He's 6'02" and about 190 pounds.
If you know where he may be, you're asked to call Myrtle Beach police at (843) 918-1382.
