The state sales tax holiday is here!

The tax holiday runs until 11:59 pm Sunday.

Things like clothing, shoes, school supplies and computers are free of the six percent state sales tax.

The sales tax holiday does not apply to sales of jewelry, cosmetics, eyewear, wallets, watches, rental of clothing or shoes, furniture, items for use in a business or items placed on layaway.

State leaders say the popularity of of the sales tax holiday has made it the third busiest shopping time of the year, behind only Thanksgiving and the weekend before Christmas.
