"Where to Retire" magazine has selected Myrtle Beach as a top retirement destination.

The tourist destination will be profiled in the magazine's feature story "8 Enticing Money-Saver Towns."

The magazine's editor Mary Lu Abbott said Myrtle Beach possesses qualities important to today's retirees. "Myrtle Beach draws thousands of vacationers each year, and many decide it's the perfect spot to retire, with a high number of attractions and a low cost of living. Dining, shopping and entertainment options abound, but you can also find your own quiet spot," Abbott said.

The September/October issue will be available nationwide on August 23, 2011.

"Where to Retire" magazine is geared toward helping people with retirement relocation decisions
