Nighttime lane closures will continue on Highway 17 Bypass in Myrtle Beach as construction crews work on the Backgate Interchange Project.

The inside lanes (both north bound and south bound) will be closed on from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Sunday, August 7, to Thursday, August 11.

The SC Department of Transportation says Crow Lane, the most westerly intersection, will be closed for approximately three weeks.

Emory Road access to Highway 17 will be closed. Officials point out that all traffic must access 17 off of Old Socastee Highway and Shetland Lane.

SCDOT reminds drivers that the speed limit throughout the construction zone is reduced to 45 mph.
