Freestyle Music Park is under new ownership, and the Horry County amusement park could reopen for business next summer.
A lawyer representing FPI U.S. says earlier this week the company submitted a credit bid of seven million dollars, but no money actually exchanged hands.
FPI U.S. is also the same company that loaned the previous owners the money for the park.
The total debt of the property is still more than $34 million.
The new owners say the move is a step in the right direction and want to see this project work.
Freestyle Music Park opened in 2009, but was only open one season.
It replaced the failed Hard Rock Park that opened the previous year.
