The South Carolina Forestry Commission has pulled crews out of the Hornet Fire burning near the Carolina Forest area of Horry County.

SCFC spokesman Scott Hawkins says local fire crews will continue to monitor the fire.

The SCFC says it started with fireworks over the Fourth of July weekend.

The fire has burned almost 1,400 acres and is now 95 percent contained.
