ATLANTIC BEACH -- Atlantic Beach Police Lt. Randy Fisher says the police force was fired Wednesday morning.

He said he, Chief Eric Lewis and Sgt. Charles Bryant were called in one-by-one and told their services were no longer needed.

Carolyn Cole and Windy Price took their seats on the Atlantic Beach Town Council for the first time Tuesday night since they were elected in 2009, after a drawn out battle that landed in the Supreme Court.

Several changes were made at the meeting, followed by Wednesday's firing of the police force.

"We've got a 2006 audit and nothing going forward, and the state requires that every year. We know we have some citizen complaints on our law enforcement," Cole said Tuesday.

NewsChannel 15 is set to meet with Lt. Fisher Wednesday afternoon. You'll hear from him on Your News at 6.
