(AP) -- GEORGETOWN, S.C. - Georgetown City Council wants to make some changes at city hall to improve security for employees.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported that city council voted 4-2 on Thursday to spend $130,000 for the upgrade in fire and security systems, including a camera and key-card access to some areas.

City administrator Chris Eldridge says people can simply wander into the administrative side of the building. But some council members were uncomfortable with restricting access to a public building.

Councilwoman Jeannette Ard points out taxpayers own the building.  But Council member Paige Sawyer says people could hide in areas of town hall and might not be seen as staff leaves the building.
