Firefighters were dispatched to a home on River Hill Drive in Little River after a person reported an explosion.

Horry County Fire Rescue said the home had heavy smoke when they arrived. It happened about 2:30 p.m.

Firefighters say one person was inside.  But a neighbor helped get the person out.  No one was hurt.

One firefighter told us an air conditioning unit blew up.  But the official word is firefighters are still investigating the exact cause.

Calabash and North Myrtle Beach firefighters are helping with the fire.

Firefighters have to monitor their health because of the heat index.  First Alert Chief Meteorologist Ed Piotrowski says it's 100 degrees in Little River at 3:30 p.m.  He says temperatures reached 110 in that area Thursday afternoon.
