(AP) -- Authorities say they are bringing no criminal charges in a Spartanburg children's train ride accident that killed a 6-year-old boy.

Spartanburg Public Safety Department Director Tony Fisher said Tuesday that Solicitor Scarlett Wilson reviewed the March 19 crash at a downtown park and a report by county officials who blamed the crash on excessive speed. That report said the train was going nearly three times faster than recommended when it rolled off its tracks and into a ditch.

Benji Easler was killed and 28 others injured when the park train ride careened off its tracks and into a ditch. On Monday, the spokesman for Pastor Dwight Easler said the family had been told no one will be charged criminally in the crash.
