Smoke filled the air in parts of Horry County off highway 90 Saturday afternoon. South Carolina Forestry Commission Spokesman Scott Hawkins says the smoke people are seeing is from the contained Hornet fire that is still burning, but it's still under control.
He says that two units and a supervisor continue to work and check up daily on the fire.
Hawkins adds that residents are still seeing smoke because it's been windy and residents should not be concerned about a threat to their homes.
The fire has burned more than 805 acres. It began the second week in July.
Although officials think the fire was most likely set, Hawkins says it's unlikely they'll be able to find the person responsible.
