Two townhouses were destroyed at a subdivision in Carolina Forest Monday evening.

Horry County Fire Rescue's Leslie Yancey says the two-alarm fire was called in at The Farm subdivision on Harvester Circle around 7:45 pm Monday.

Witnesses on the scene tell NewsChannel 15 the fire started outside in front of the townhouse and spread to a first story townhouse and then spread to the one above it.

Yancey says both townhouses are considered a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
