The accident happened at the Monterrey Bay Hotel on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach just before 11 a.m Sunday morning.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard says the victim is 17-year-old Douglas Smith of Mullins.
According to the police report, Smith fell from a "seventh floor balcony to the third floor landing of the parking garage."
The report goes on to say, "the victim was staying in room 721 which is directly adjacent to the balcony that he fell from."
Smith was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where he died from head trauma just after Noon.
Police say foul play is not suspected.
