WAVES, N.C. (AP) - Rip tides appear to have caused the drownings of three men in two days in separate incidents at North Carolina beaches.

Authorities say 43-year-old Todd Buchy, of Worthington, Ohio, was found face down in the surf Thursday afternoon along the Outer Banks. Emergency crews could not revive him.

Officials say Buchy was vacationing with a large family group.

In Atlantic Beach, rescuers say 68-year-old John Moore was discovered floating on his back unconscious in the waves Friday afternoon. He also could not be revived.

Not far away in Salter Path, officials say 41-year-old Tony Cilluffo of Washington, was found floating in the water not breathing Thursday evening and died at the hospital.

Authorities say rip currents have been strong this week all along the North Carolina coast.
